So, I have yet to drop this show, despite being several episodes behind with the episodes that have been released at the time of writing this. Still, I plan to keep it, and continue on with it. Anyway, more questions are answered and asked with each passing episode. So, let’s get right into it since I am done waiting.
So, the two Plantations come together to do what is referred to as “Kissing.” This is quickly explained on how this is when two plantations share magma energy. Now, since the Klaxosaurs feed of this magma energy, well, there is not only a huge battle believed to happen when the “Kissing” starts, but this is a do or die situation and it all comes down to the kids. Of course, they are not alone. There was a huge moral boost with a ceremony, and another and more experienced team.
Anyway, Hiro is not looking so well, a common theme this episode as we find out later as to why.
Of course, Zero Two is here, and well, their prayer is a lot about Papa. It is really weird.
But, then there are a lot more conversations from the character in regard to worrying about Hiro. Seriously, is Hiro the only person or thing they talk about?
Anyway, the group meets with the other kids. They also clearly know a lot more what is going on as when Zorome mentions if any of their squad mates have become adults. This is starting to further my theory they are not really born human or even maybe Papa is not human or something along those lines. They also point out the main character squads are the only one that has unique Franxx and also nicknames. Again, this is odd on why they are so different.
Also, Hiro apparently has a huge blue bulge that looks like it is sucking the life from him. Goro is the one to find out, and ultimately keeps it a secret from everyone.
Then the other team has a debriefing of what is happening, they don’t like Zero Two.
The episode heads towards the conclusion, after Ichigo had a rather heated talk with Zero Two, as well, Zero Two and Hiro being rather calm with the fact that Hiro is probably going to die.
Not a lot of action this episode, but that did not stop the insane amount of drama. Nor did it stop the fact that the next episode is probably going to have a huge fight with a lot of pressure on everyone. Seriously, the drama was certainly at its highest when it came to dealing with Hiro, and Zero Two for that matter. Sure, it would be nice if there wasn’t much focus on either of them and maybe more on the group dynamic, or something else, but they are the center focus for the show.
I feel like there is not much to say after that. There was a lot of drama, and certainly with the other group knowing more, well, it certainly has us wondering more. I do find it odd to cut it short. But, I certainly don’t plan to stop watching this show any time soon.
Overall Enjoyment: 90/100
Overall Score: A
The anime is being streamed on Crunchyroll, and Funimation has a dubbed planned, but I probably won’t watch that.
As always feel free to comment your thoughts on the series.
As always I hope you enjoyed.
Anime Corps has plenty of other things from reviews, editorials, and more to check out, all from other writers.
I am mostly the editor here, but only my personal blog, The Reviewer’s Corner, I have more weekly reviews and a list series. That is here.
Until next time.
