I honestly had no idea what was going on at the start of the episode. But, it quickly was answered. So, let’s get right into it then.
So, Takuru, Serika, and Shin are being all sneaky. Well, it turns out they are sneaking into the hospital that has been brought up since episode 2. I may have missed the line saying that. Anyway, they are immediately followed by zombie like people.
So, they end up in the autopsy room and hide in one of the places for the bodies. Turns on Shin ended up being with an actual body, while Takuru and Serika were touching one another’s body.
Anyway they go down a secret tunnel. Takuru freaks out since he is seeing flashbacks and tripping out pretty hard, seeing his friends die. Then the super genius girl shows up and nearly strangles him.
So, the follow her. Find out this place has been running experiments on people. A bunch of other things that Takuru has a bad reaction to when he sees a certain image. Takuru and Serika also remembering being here before and saved their friend, who is now missing, but shares a similar name with Arimura. Anyway they leave and decide to take one of the girls there that survived the experiments.
Once they escape, it turns out that the genius girl brings up how the hospital never succeeded in their experiments in making a Di-Sword. And the episode ends.
Fairly straight forward episode this week. Fairly high on the psychological aspects. But it was nice that there was no beating around the bush and it went straight into investigating the hospital. Which provided a lot of questions, and little answers as to what is going on.
This episode it became clear of the possible connection to Chaos;Head. Di-Sword was an important part in the series, and, if I remember correctly since it has been 4 years, it was a psychic weapon that a select few could use. Although that select few was pretty much every girl and the main character in that show. I do forget how it ended.
Anyway, with this face, I am starting to question how much of a sequel this is to Chaos;Head. I mean until now it has not been that much. Just the fact strange murders happened the same day. It could be interesting where this goes from here. Personally I hope it tries to stay away from being a full-blown sequel. But who knows.
The episode was certainly interesting, in really bringing out the supernatural connection. But, hopefully the momentum continues. It certainly was a rather strong continuation, compared to last week’s obvious choices.
Overall Enjoyment: 85/100
Chaos;Child is licensed by Funimation and is streamed on Crunchyroll.
