After a drastic measure of closing the park for cleaning, what else does Seiya have planned to get Amaburi the 250k needed visitors?
Here’s my review!
Now that he’s the new manager of Amaburi, Seiya’s first order of business was to close the park for cleaning, something that hasn’t happened in a long while. Obviously not everyone is happy with this, Moffle being at the top of this bandwagon of anger. While he’s got a point, in the 29 years of the park being there, it’s never been closed without advanced notice, but seeing the situation they’re currently in, things really do need to be cleaned up.
The following meeting with all the heads of various department doesn’t go as well as Seiya might have planned, the folk not taking the sudden change in things to well, but in the interest of keeping the park open, these might be for the better. While the extended hours and no Friday’s off aren’t that big a deal, this third proposed idea comes as a huge shock to everyone. Until July 31st, everything will be free with unlimited access. Wow that’s a gutsy move. We also finally get to see more of that cutie, who happens to be the head of accounting. After input from the accountant and Moffle, Seiya decides to have everything 30 yen now. Why this number? Because the 30th anniversary of the park will happen the following year . In the end what matters the most is getting enough visitor, so while cutting prices so low, they’ll still make money, a little, but not that much. But like as mentioned, if they fail to get enough people, the park is closed anyways, so it’s a huge gamble, one that might pay off too.
The following sequence with Moffle and Macaron is pretty funny. Tasked with trying to keep the guests entertained, Moffle is brutally kicked by another kid. Damn kids. Already being in a bad mood from the meeting, Moffle has had enough shit to deal with for one day and ends up putting the kid and his bitchy mother in place. But things heat up when the father arrives, a thug-like guy who talks big about messing Moffle up, but in the end he’s down in one hit. But before Moffle can kill the mother and kid, Seiya takes him down with a falcon kick.
To wipe their memories of the incident, Isuzu shoots the three of them with the Forgotten Realm bullet. Lol that moment reminded me of something that Momoka would do, shoot them in the head like that. Ah yes, Momoka really was something special. We need more girls like Momoka out there, anime would be much more enjoyable. Seiya gives Moffle an earful about beating up guests, something you obviously can’t do, even if they’re acting like total assholes. Letting him off the hook this one time, Seiya makes it clear next time he’s out for good. We later learn that the Forgotten Realm bullets are quite expensive to use, Isuzu claims they take up to a year to make; at that point is it even worth it? Can you just use a lot of the Pain Bringer rounds and hope the pain makes them forget? Isuzu also pledges her dedication to the park, saying she’d give anything, including the shirt off her back, to help them through. Well, well then, anything eh? I can think of a few things…. that I probably shouldn’t mention right now. Moving on.
Up next, we get bikinis. Yep, you read right. Hopefully I won’t lose you in this part because pictures of nearly naked anime girls have a tendency to make people lose focus. Try your hardest to read and look at the pics. Okay? Thanks.
These first two gifs are from the original scene, I want you to look at their boobs now okay? Notice the lack of a bounce. Now take a look at the following two gifs below and notice how much better they are.
Alright then, so in hopes to attract guests, Seiya decides to film a commercial with the girls, Isuzu, Latifa, Muse, Koboli, Salama and Sylphy, in bikinis. Now while this is all fine and well, KyoAni being hailed as heroes for doing this, there is one thing about this scene that didn’t sit too well. More noticeable with Isuzu, Muse and Sylphy, while they’re jumping up and down, their boobs are not bouncing at all. Yes the only reason to notice this is to be staring right at them, but yeah I’m a guy and my eyes happen to like gravitating towards boobs. I’m not sure why they did this, maybe because of when it was aired and that was too much for TV at the time, but I doubt it because Rail Wars, while already censored on TV because of the time it aired, had way more bouncing boobs. KyoAni is fully capable of animating bouncing boobs, yet they clearly aren’t here. Sure in the grand scheme of things it’s not a huge problem, I mean we get to look at the girls in bikinis, nothing worth auguring about there, but that added detail would’ve heightened the scene a bit more. I don’t know, it bothered me a bit and it looks out of place. What about you, was this an issue for you or am I just picking apart this scene too much?
After we’ve been treated to some bikini action, we learn that Latifa is actually quite frail and shouldn’t really be leaving her garden area. Moffle has yet another reason to be annoyed with Seiya here, but in his defense he didn’t know about her condition when he asked her. Seiya also makes a point of saying that he told her she was free to opt out at anytime, but she still went ahead with the plan, helping them out.
The next day the swimsuit video has gotten views, but something else has happened. A video of Moffle beating up that guy has been uploaded as well! Is this certain doom for the park? Not at all. Through the magic of editing, Seiya, with the help of Toriken, have edited and uploaded the video, making the bad situation look a lot better than it actually was. Looks like things aren’t that bad just yet.
The remaining bit of the ep is of Seiya taking another walk around the park, pleased with the slow increase of guests. So far things are going well, but it’s a long ways till 250k still. We end back at the restaurant with Moffle, Macaron, Tiramie and Isuzu as they enjoy a few drinks. Isuzu being under age sticks to fizzy pop while the rest knock back beer. While enjoying drinks and getting shot multiple times by Isuzu, the four are visited by Wanipi (that blue dino guy) who brings news about Latifa. But before we can find out what, the ep ends!
Here are a few extra pics!
So this was another pretty solid ep, the bikinis being a nice highlight too. So after 3 will you be sticking around for the remaining 10 eps? I know I am as KyoAni seems to be doing a good job with this one, actually living up to my expectations so far. So are you enjoying Amaburi so far? Have a favorite character? What about thoughts on what’s going to happen in the future for this one? Let me know in the comments below!
Well that’s all I’ve got for today, I hope you enjoyed it. Up next I’ll return with my Selector Spread WIXOSS ep 3 review then the Sora no Method ep 3 review later next week. Until then though, let’s take a look at what to expect from Amaburi next week.
