So it’s finally happened, she’s returned. Date A Live II might not have been at it’s best, but with the return of this one girl, things are about to get a hell of a lot better. Of course I’m talking about none other than the one and only, Kurumi Tokisaki aka Nightmare.
Here’s my review!
Picking up where last week left us, Shido (who has become Shiori now) and gang have face off against Miku in a music battle. Obviously there was never anyway that Shido (yeah I’ll keep calling him Shido) was going to beat Miku (aka Diva) in any sort of music competition. So falling short of Miku meant that Shido had to give all the sealed Spirits to Miku. But wait! It’s not over yet! While Miku and her school might have won the battle on stage, Shido’s school won the overall competition in the school booths, thus propelling his school to the top! After all is said and done, Shido has triumphed over impossible odds and has actually beaten Miku!
But while all this is going on, high above the auditorium there is a fierce battle going on in the air between Origami and Jessica and the DEM Wizards. As hard as Origami is fighting she’s still getting her ass handed to her as the DEM have the numbers over her. Back in the auditorium Miku is seething about having not beaten Shido and his school, so she summons Gabriel, which is her weapon thing. Gabriel is like a massive organ that you’d find in a church, except it’s a billion times bigger and when Miku plays it, it give off a hypnotic vibe that let’s Miku control people. So she starts playing this on stage and suddenly the whole place is now in her control!
With the whole place under her control now, Miku says that everything should go her way, and that the promise is off. In a funny part here, Miku starts to feel up Shiori thinking she’s a girl (as she still doesn’t know it’s Shido) and when she traces her hand down to the loser regions, she suddenly encounters a strange feeling, something that shouldn’t be there. Asking a few of her mind controlled girl to search Shiro, they discover (by pulling her (his) pants off) that Shiro is actually a guy. Remember that Miku isn’t a fan of guys and like to roll on the yuri route more, so as if she wasn’t mad before, now she’s really pissed off. With a whole auditorium against him, including the Yamai girls and even Yoshino, it looks like things might be over for Shido now. With things looking dire, Shido looks to his late hope, Tohka, but has she been taken control of too?
Escaping with Tohka, we find out the reason she isn’t under Miku’s control is because still had her ear plugs in, so the effects of Gabriel didn’t affect her. But still it’s an uneven fight now, Tohka can’t take on the Yamai girls, Yoshino and Miku, so Shido calls for an evac from the Fraxinus, but Gabriel has reached up to them too! Now it’s just Shido and Tohka vs. the world now. Kotori gives the order to target the auditorium where Shido is, but before the Fraxinus can fire the cannon, Mana saves the day by stopping Kotori! Remember Mana Takamiya from the first season? Well she’s back in action and is currently one of the not under the control of Miku.
Back inside Tohka tries to fight them all but it’s too hard for her. To make matters worse, Ellen shows up and takes Tohka captive. Now on his own, Shido is on the run from pretty much everyone. Except one person though. Hiding off in a building, Shido tries to think up a plan of action when the star of the episode walks in. Yes that’s right, the Nightmare Kurumi Tokisaki has returned!
Shido has no other options and no one else he can turn to for help, so he’s forced to team up with Kurumi to save everyone. After doing some recon at Miku’s house, and looking at how large her bras are, Kurumi and Shido are off to face the Diva and her mind controlled army.
All in all this was a pretty good ep, then again any ep with Kurumi is gonna be good. I’m looking forward to seeing more of her in the coming eps and I’m sure we’re all happy to have her back as well. Let’s take a look at a few screen shots before bringing this review to an end.
So that brings us to and end to this review! I hope you enjoyed reading it and watching the ep and it looks like next time we’ll get some more Kurumi action as well! I’m not sure what my next review will be, maybe WIXOSS, or maybe Knights of Sidonia, but whatever it is, I’ll be sure to have it up too. Let’s take a look at the preview for the next ep now.
